My Favorite Quotes:

A person's a PERSON no matter how small... -Dr. Seuss

I am a little pencil in the hand of God who is sending a love letter to the world. - Mother Teresa

The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to THINK, than WHAT to think- rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with the thoughts of other men. - James Beattie

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution- looks interesting!

ARE YOUR KIDS...

getting 9-13 Servings of Fruits and Veggies every day?
Jamie Oliver is talking about all the JUNK FOOD our nation eats- especially what our precious kids are puttting in their bodies!
I am definitely to blame on this one...although I try I definitely fall
back on "easy and unhealthy" quite a bit!

ON a side note:  I have recently decided to become a distributor for Juice Plus- it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING in what it has done for me and my two girls this fall/winter (about 5 months...) anyway I have been receiving lots of great information via email and saw this show.  I heard one of my friends talking about it the other day and it looks like it could be a pretty interesting show- here is what I saw- wanted to share it with you all:
Back to the show:
I don't know if you all have seen the preview clips on television for this
new show airing for the first time March 26th, but click on the below link
to see what the "Food Revolution" is all about. Jamie Oliver is apparently on
the same mission that the Juice Plus community is because it is all about
awareness, education and parental responsibility.
If you are interested in information about what Juice Plus is and what it can do to help you with a healthy, happy family- let me know! :)

I get juice plus from my cousin. It's great. I'm glad you've discovered that.

I've been on a 3 year journey to work on my kids diets. We no longer consume white flour regularly. I make whole wheat & oatmeal pancakes. The kids eat steel cut oats instead of those crazy packets. Andmy next trend will be buying plain yogurt and adding our own fruit. My kids will drink V8 (the regular one) and I'm starting juicing...to increase their fruit and veggie count. We can usually get 5 servings in...and often 5-9, but 9-13 is tough. Especially when also trying to get in the # of grams of fiber, servings of dairy, and water. There is no room for junk.

Since learning to read, and having family members with health issues, my kids are concerned with the sugar and sodium in packaged snacks. I'm glad they're learning to be healthy.

Just wanted to say I'm so excited to have found your blog off Catholic Mothers online! :) We are getting ready to start homeschooling our almost 4yr old daughter, so I love getting any tips for this age that I can! :)
